Monsters Frankenstein

I can think of criticism for both parties.

Criticizing Victor:
-He was irresponsible in leaving the thing he created behind, which led to the monster's neglect, and I suppose you could argue to his descent into violence
-He is extremely vain: he constantly gives things value on appearance alone, and this is part of his abhorrence of the monster; everything he does is selfish - he does not think of the monster's feelings when he abandons him, only of himself; he says he will not obey the monster's wishes in making him a mate because he would be remembered badly - what about everyone the monster says he will kill? he is responsible for their deaths, etc etc

Criticizing the monster:
-It does not matter how depressed you are, you do not have to get violent. Could be worded much better, but that's the gist of it. He acts like his crimes were not his fault, but this is incorrect: his ill treatment was not his fault, but his acts of violence definitely were. He could have tried again what he was planning with the De Lacey's, but he chose not to
-His acts are purely spiteful: he feels depressed, so he wants to make Victor depressed. This is childish. If he were a truly good and responsible being, he should realize that he is only sinking to Victor's shallow level by doing this.

Both of them have a lot to nitpick... I can't say I like either one.
